🔹 Product Overview
Estrofem 2 mg Tablet contains Estradiol 2 mg (as estradiol hemihydrate), an estrogen hormone replacement medicine used for the treatment of symptoms associated with estrogen deficiency in postmenopausal women. It may also be used for prevention of osteoporosis in selected postmenopausal women at increased risk of fractures.
Estradiol replaces estrogen that the body produces at lower levels after menopause and helps relieve symptoms associated with estrogen deficiency.

🔹 Uses And Indications
Estrofem 2 mg may be used for:
Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT) for symptoms of estrogen deficiency after menopause
Relief of menopausal symptoms associated with reduced estrogen levels
Prevention of osteoporosis in selected postmenopausal women at increased risk of fractures when other approved treatments are unsuitable
Estrogen replacement in postmenopausal women following natural or surgical menopause
Estrofem is particularly intended as an estrogen-only HRT for women who have undergone hysterectomy and therefore do not require combined estrogen/progestogen therapy.
🔹 How It Works
Estradiol is a form of estrogen that is biologically similar to the body's naturally occurring estrogen. After menopause, reduced estrogen production can contribute to symptoms such as hot flushes and vaginal symptoms and can increase bone loss. Estrofem replaces estrogen and helps restore estrogen activity in the body.
🔹 Key Benefits
Helps relieve symptoms associated with estrogen deficiency after menopause.
Provides estrogen replacement through oral administration.
Helps reduce postmenopausal bone loss in appropriately selected women.
Contains 2 mg estradiol in each film-coated tablet.
Available in a convenient oral tablet formulation.
🔹 Dosage And Administration
Estrofem 2 mg Tablet should be taken only as prescribed by a qualified healthcare professional.
The usual administration is one tablet orally once daily without interruption, but the appropriate dose and duration should be individualized according to the patient's symptoms, medical history and treatment response. The lowest effective dose for the shortest appropriate duration is generally recommended for menopausal symptom treatment.
Women who have an intact uterus generally require an appropriate progestogen in addition to estrogen therapy to reduce the risk of endometrial hyperplasia and cancer.

Abdominal discomfort

Inform the doctor about any history of blood clots, stroke, heart disease, liver disease or breast cancer.
Report unexplained vaginal bleeding promptly.
Regular breast examinations and appropriate screening should be maintained according to medical advice.
Estrogen therapy may increase the risk of blood clots; seek urgent medical attention for sudden chest pain, breathlessness or painful swelling of a leg.
Patients with an intact uterus should discuss the need for concomitant progestogen therapy with their doctor.
Inform the doctor about all medicines and supplements being taken because some medicines can affect estrogen metabolism.
