Abalam Tablet is a fixed-dose antiretroviral combination containing Abacavir 600 mg + Lamivudine 300 mg. Both medicines belong to the nucleoside reverse transcriptase inhibitor (NRTI) class and are used together with other appropriate antiretroviral medicines for the treatment of HIV-1 infection.
Abalam helps reduce HIV viral replication and supports maintenance of viral suppression. It does not cure HIV infection.

🔹 Dosage And Administration
Take Abalam exactly as prescribed by your HIV specialist.
It can generally be taken with or without food. Swallow the tablet whole with water.
Do not stop treatment or restart it after an interruption without medical advice, particularly because abacavir hypersensitivity reactions can recur severely after re-exposure.

🔹 Important Warnings And Precautions
Abacavir hypersensitivity: Before starting an abacavir-containing medicine, patients should be tested for the HLA-B*5701 allele. Abacavir should not be used in patients who test positive.
Seek immediate medical attention if symptoms suggestive of hypersensitivity occur, such as:
Fever
Skin rash
Nausea or vomiting
Diarrhea or abdominal pain
Severe tiredness or body aches
Cough, sore throat, or breathing difficulty
If abacavir hypersensitivity is confirmed or strongly suspected, abacavir-containing medicines must not be restarted.
Also inform the doctor about:
Liver disease or hepatitis B/C
Kidney problems
Cardiovascular disease or cardiovascular risk factors
Pregnancy or breastfeeding
All other medicines being taken
